Annual Recognition

Honour the Women
Around You

Honour. Share. Challenge. Empower. An annual invitation for all of us to pause and recognise the women who hold our families, homes, and communities together.

The recognition challenge

We should honour and recognize all the women in our lives

Every day, women in our families, homes, and communities do extraordinary things without recognition. They hold households together, care for aging parents, raise children with cultural pride, support their spouses, and show up for their neighbours — quietly, consistently, without fanfare.

We should honour and recognise all the women in our lives who help build our homes, our families, and our communities. Not just on one day — but this challenge gives us a reason to carve out time from our schedules, pause, and acknowledge the work they do, the values they carry, and the joy they bring to our lives.

Join the challenge each year. Make this the moment you say it out loud. Use #ASHACircleHonoursHer and watch the ripple grow across our community.

“When one woman is honoured, we all rise together. Honouring her today. Empowering tomorrow.”

This is not just an event. It is a practice of gratitude that our community does together — because when women are seen, families grow stronger and communities thrive.

International Women’s Day Recognition 2026

Asha Circle launched 2026 with a powerful evening honouring South Asian women in Calgary whose resilience, leadership, and daily care sustain our families and communities. The room became the testimony. Women stood to acknowledge the challenges they had faced, witnessed, and overcome.

Recognition extended through #ASHACircleHonoursHer. Our founder Sunita Dhoopar was recognized by our MLA for three decades of community building.
