Asha Circle builds preventative health, cultural continuity, and belonging for South Asian adults, families, and youth in Calgary — upstream, before crisis arrives.
Every program addresses a different dimension of community health — cultural, spiritual, and physical.
Honour. Share. Challenge. Empower. Recognising South Asian women in Calgary whose quiet leadership holds our community together.
Learn more →Annual spring celebration bringing all generations together — puja, bhajans, children’s programming, prasad, and a shared feast.

Learn more →Not a fitness competition. A community movement for South Asian adults 40 and over — three months of walking, strength, and sport. July 1 – September 28, 2026.
After age 40, we lose 3–8% of our muscle mass every decade. For South Asian adults, the risks are even higher — elevated rates of diabetes, heart disease, and early mobility loss. But even 20–30 minutes of movement a day dramatically reduces those risks. You don’t need a gym. You need a community.
Walk every day. Build the habit. Beginner: 100,000 steps. Intermediate: 240,000. Advanced: 300,000. Weekly social themes bring community together.
Keep your full step target and add a daily strength routine — sit-to-stands, wall sits, toe raises, bridge pose, and planks. 5–15 minutes. No gym required.
Keep everything and add community sport — 8 sessions before September 28. Pickleball, badminton, cricket, hiking, or any sport you love.
Every event is a chapter in our story.
On April 12, 2025, Asha Circle held its very first gathering at New Indo-Canadian Centre ↗ — a Hanuman Jayanti celebration that planted the seed of our organization. Hanumanji’s eight teachings became the spiritual and operational foundation of everything Asha Circle would become.
Asha Circle launched 2026 with a powerful evening honouring South Asian women whose resilience, leadership, and daily care sustain our families. Recognition extended through #ASHACircleHonoursHer. Sunita Dhoopar recognized by our MLA for three decades of community building.
First in full partnership with Sangam Mandir ↗. Community gathered in prayer, music, children’s programming, and a shared feast.
